Overview: Zhang Huichong directs and stars in this early martial arts film as a swordsman who comes to the rescue of a young woman kidnapped by bandits. The woman was played by Zhang’s wife, Xu Sue. This was the first of many action and martial arts films the couple appeared in together throughout the 1920s. Most of them returned to the same formula of a hero rescuing a damsel from peril.
